UBC MEL MHLP 2021 Applications Now Open

Why wait to start the next chapter in your career? Start your application for the Master of Engineering Leadership (MEL) or Master of Health Leadership and Policy (MHLP) professional graduate degree today.

 As of January 1, 2021, the online application portal for the MEL and MHLP programs has opened, and prospective students may now submit their applications for the 2022 cohort.

 Why pursue an MEL or MHLP? Graduates chose these professional master degrees so that they could confidently move into a new career, shift into a related industry, expand their horizons, uncover a new path to leadership, and make a positive difference in their industry.

Explore what programs are available and what specializations best suit your experience and interests.

The MEL & MHLP professional master’s degrees will:

  • Advance your technical or clinical leadership skill-set through engaging classes
  • Develop your fundamental business and communication skills so that you can confidently move into positions of leadership
  • Broaden your professional network as you learn and collaborate with experienced faculty, industry change-makers, and motivated peers

Note that 24-month, part-time options are available for both MHLP program specializations in Seniors Care and Clinical Education, as well as MEL programs in Urban Systems and Integrated Water Management. All other specializations are offered full-time over 12-months.

Deadlines for Application Submissions

For 2022 admissions, there are three MEL and MHLP application rounds that you can apply to. International students have the opportunity to apply to the first two application rounds. If you are an international student, we recommend that you apply during the first round to allow time to process your study permits.

  • Round 1 – International & Domestic: March 30, 2021 (Decision by April 30, 2021)
  • Round 2 – International & Domestic: June 30, 2021 (Decision by July 30, 2021)
  • Round 3 – Canadian & US Applicants ONLY: September 30, 2021 (Decision by October 30, 2021)
