MHLP Supported Alzheimer’s Research with a Coffee Break

November 29, 2017
UBC MHLP in SC Nursing Coffee Break

Yesterday, MHLP teamed up with BC Alzheimer’s society for a Coffee Break to network, spread knowledge and support a fantastic cause. Coffee Break is a national annual fundraiser where friends, families and co-workers gather in communities to raise money for their local Alzheimer Society and spend time together. Many gathered to enjoy a cup of coffee (by donation to Alzheimer’s research) and chat with representatives from MHLP.

MHLP provides programs in Seniors Care and Clinical Education whereupon issues associated with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia are extremely relevant. Discussions surrounding care and health are extremely valuable and the MHLP team was excited to connect with so many individuals.

If you were unable to attend, keep in touch with us for news of further events and consider donating to support the BC Alzheimer’s Society.

Quick Facts:

  • 5% of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research’s budget is invested in dementia research.
  • It is estimated that 70,000 British Columbians are affected by dementia.
  • 25,000 new cases of dementia are diagnosed every year.
