The MEL is a unique interdisciplinary professional master’s degree tailored for students with several years of industry experience. It blends graduate-level courses from UBC Faculty of Applied Science and UBC Sauder’s Robert H. Lee Graduate School, equipping graduates with a powerful blend of sector-specific technical expertise and business knowledge in organizational leadership, strategic planning, project management, analytics and sustainability.

MEL students choose from one of eight industry sector specializations, including advanced materials manufacturing, clean energy engineering, dependable software systems, high performance buildings, integrated water management, naval architecture and marine engineering, sustainable process engineering and urban systems.
