Submit your application well before the deadline.
You should submit your online application form well before the application deadline so there is enough time for your referees to submit their references and for you to complete the mandatory video interview by the deadline.
We recommend you submit your application 2-4 weeks before the application deadline.
Once you submit your application and pay your application fee, we will automatically contact your referees and you will receive an email invitation to complete your mandatory video interview.
All three of your references and your video interview must be submitted by the application deadline.
How do I apply?
You apply for the MEL and MHLP through the UBC MyApplication portal. After you click Apply Now to begin your online application, you’ll be asked to sign in using your Campus-Wide Login (CWL) account.
- If this is your first time applying to UBC, you’ll need to create an account.
- If you have applied to or studied at UBC in the past, log in using your existing CWL. Do not create a new CWL as this will result in issues with your application.
Once you have logged in, choose the program you are applying to and begin working on your application. You don’t have to complete it all at once. Save your application at any point in the process and sign in again to continue working on it later.
You will be asked to fill in your contact information and provide information about your academic history, sources of funding and email addresses for three references. You will also be asked to upload documents that include your letter of intent, resume, transcripts and proof of residency. You may also be asked to submit proof of English language proficiency and your degree certificate(s). Please see the Application Checklist for more information on these elements of your application.
