UBC MEL MHLP 2026 Application Portal Open

The complex challenges we face as a society require a new kind of professional who can confidently lead teams of technical and non-technical colleagues and stakeholders. One of the best ways to gain the credentials, knowledge and industry connections to do this is by investing in a professional master’s degree like the MEL or MHLP.

UBC is consistently ranked one of the world’s best universities. Industry employers recognize the value of a master’s degree from UBC, confidently hiring graduates that can seamlessly transition into leadership roles in health care, engineering and urban planning.

MEL and MHLP graduates are in high demand because of the interdisciplinary nature of the programs. Students take a curated selection of sector-specific technical courses alongside courses in business and leadership. These are complemented by a wide range of optional professional development opportunities – from networking events to industry conferences and more – that enable students to make valuable professional connections and gain familiarity with local industry issues.

Start your application now to be part of the 2026 cohort and accelerate your career development.

Key dates

There are two MEL and MHLP application rounds:

  • Round 1: March 25, 2025
  • Round 2: June 25, 2025

It’s a good idea to apply in the first round. Doing so means you will find out on May X, 2025, if you’ve been accepted into the program, which gives you plenty of time to plan your move to Vancouver and make the transition to student life at UBC. Watch our video on the benefits of applying early.
