In the next few weeks, our admissions team will send out acceptance letters to the incoming 2026 Master of Engineering Leadership and Master of Health Leadership and Policy cohort of students – students who have recognized that this professional master’s degree is simply one of the best ways for them to gain the knowledge, industry connections and skills to accelerate their career advancement.

We’re looking forward to welcoming these students to our UBC Vancouver campus in January 2026. They are about to embark on a transformative experience that will enable them to take their careers in new directions.

If you missed the opportunity to join us in 2026, you can start planning for the next intake. The application portal for the 2027 intake will open on January 1, 2026.

Why should you consider joining the MEL or MHLP? Simply put, you will

  • expand your knowledge of your industry sector while gaining crucial skills in business and leadership
  • graduate with a highly respected master’s degree from UBC, one of the world’s top universities
  • expand your network by learning alongside a cohort of experienced professionals, attending conferences and building industry connections position yourself to follow in the footsteps of our alumni, who are highly sought after by employers

Here’s what two of our alumni have to say about the impact of the degree:

“It’s not easy to change your career path, but the MEL gave me a solid foundation to do so,” says Wanying Shi, a graduate of the MEL in Clean Energy Engineering. “I gained the knowledge and skills I needed to pivot into a job where I can use my technical skills and interest in sustainability to make a difference. I really appreciated the freedom I had to explore different areas and learn many new things.”

“I would love more people to take this program because of its unique blend of business, health care and education,” says Ellison Chung, a graduate of the MHLP in Clinical Education. “It’s so rare to find a program that brings those three elements together and it makes for a powerful mix.”

While you may have missed the application deadline for 2026, this is a great time to find out more about the MEL and MHLP degrees and start planning your future.
